One God-given idea can change so much. Braille sure did! In 1824, Louis Braille, a Christian, invented a system of raised dots on paper so that blind people could read. He invented 63 symbols representing every language, hence God's Word was placed into the hands of the visually impaired for the first time. And communications? In part, you owe your mobile phone and your computer to a Christian named Samuel Morse. How different the world was before him! First-class news took two weeks to reach the USA. And reports of a major victory could take six weeks to reach Britain. One day a friend said, 'Morse, when you were experimenting did you ever come to an absolute deadlock, not knowing what to do?' Morse replied, 'More than once.' His friend asked, 'What did you do then?' Morse shared a secret, 'I got down on my knees and prayed for light, and light came, and when my inventions were acknowledged by flattering honors from America and Europe, I said, "Not unto me, O Lord, not unto me, but unto Thy name give the glory."' That's why the first message sent by transatlantic cable read, 'What God has wrought.' Now add another Christian named Louis Pasteur, the French scientist who showed us that infection is the result of things we cannot see, namely germs and viruses. He introduced sterilization methods that eventually saved the lives of multitudes. Think God has run out of good ideas? Not a chance! Ask Him for one for your life, your ministry or your business!

Good ideas come from God, so ask Him for one. The world's been blessed by those who did. Consider anesthesia: how would you like to be operated on without it? That is the way they did it until a Scottish doctor named James Young Simpson introduced something he called 'artificial sleep'. As a student at Edinburgh University he was attracted to surgery because he was troubled by the pain and mortality rate experienced during operations. As a result of reading 'And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam...' (Genesis 2:21 NKJV), Simpson thought chloroform might be the answer. He first experimented on himself. Finally, in 1847, the first three operations with chloroform took place. One of the patients, a young soldier, enjoyed it so much that he seized the sponge and inhaled again. 'It was just too good to be stopped,' he said. At first Simpson encountered opposition. Some thought it was a sin to interfere with nature. 'Hand me the Bible,' said Dr Simpson. 'This is how God operated on Adam.' Simpson made speeches, wrote letters and pamphlets and tried to convince those who opposed him that this was the way forward. In a setback, when three deaths attributed to chloroform were reported from other hospitals, Simpson was able to show them that they were not applying the anesthesia correctly. The tide turned when Queen Victoria gave birth to her eighth child under chloroform and declared that she was 'greatly pleased with its effect'. Today ask God to give you an idea that blesses others. Then act on it!

Win that soul...

About a month ago, I got the urge to share the love of Jesus Christ with a colleague, I kept ignoring it because one thing or the other that seemed a little more important than sharing the gospel with this person came up. But today, I laid aside every seemingly important tasks and excuses. I summoned enough courage to talk this person about Christ and I felt a sigh of relief.

A couple days ago, I saw a video on YouTube titled “Letter from Hell.” Last wednesday at mid-week service, we were reminded of the importance of soul winning. So why do we need to win souls? Because my dear friends, HELL is for real! God loved us so much He spent His last dime, His ultimate and most precious resource, His only son Jesus Christ to reconcile us back to Him to stop us from going to Hell.

The video “Letter from Hell” is a letter written by someone who went to hell because his friend failed to tell him about Christ. His description and illustration was very sad and sorrowful, it may be difficult to explain what hell is like but His Word says…there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth, so I believe people would still be able to feel, think and have emotions but be in a place of torment for eternity.

How long is Eternity? It is a very long time. Someone once described eternity as such: if a bird were to pick up pebbles with its beak one stone at a time from under the sea to transfer to the atmospheric heaven (~93 million KM) away, the day the bird succeeds in completing this task if ever, is the day Eternity begins. Hmmm... think about that!

If you believe and agree with me on this subject or not, my question is: are you willing to let a loved one go to Hell for eternity or are you going to share the gospel of truth with them? Think about this, the person will still be able to feel, think and will live forever in the most terrible place of anguish and would remember that you either shared or failed to share about Christ with him or her.

For this cause did Jesus descended to earth, leaving behind all of His glory to share the Love of God with us. He didn’t come out here to be a celebrity or to put on a show for us. We should follow His example and share the good news to everyone around us and in our circle of influence. This could be their last opportunity to hear about this gospel of truth.

God has placed people in your circle of influence for this purpose: For you to tell them about how much He Loved them. People in your circle of influence include people such as your banker, your hair stylist, gym members, colleague at work, neighbor, loved ones, family members, police officer (right after you’ve been given a ticket), to mention a few. Look around you, there are numerous people clueless and heading for eternal destruction, we are reminded that "... all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”

Are you intimidated, shy or simply just lack wisdom on how to share the gospel? Just ask! Ask for wisdom. (If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask…) and believe in your heart that you have it. Take the step of faith and speak to this person about Jesus Christ. Really, all God asked us to do is just to share His love, you've not been recruited to convert anyone. We will leave that to the Holy Spirit.

We have been called and endowed with gifts, talents for a purpose. Use your gifts to spread the good news to people who care to listen. Do not loose focus of the purpose of your gift because of your success and achievements.

Statistics show that roughly 100 people die every minute. Imagine how many of this number will go to hell! My friends, time is short and there is an urgent need to act fast. Now if you are already spreading the word and using your talents and gifts to advance the Kingdom of God please be encouraged. It pays off both here on earth (You will receive numerous early reward) and in heaven where you will be crowned with crowns of glory. Your good deeds will also be recorded in the books of life. But do not relent. take time out to re-evaluate your strategy and if necessary, design ways to improve your strategies of populating the kingdom of God.

If you do not know Christ and you are curious about what He is able to do for you and how to secure your eternal life in bliss with Him. Please say this simple prayer: “Jesus, I believe you are the way, the truth and the life to everlasting life with God. I acknowledge you as my Lord and savior today and I depend of your guidance to live a life that is pleasing unto you”.
